AHDB Pork appoints new Knowledge Transfer Senior Manager

3rd May 2018 / By Alistair Driver

AHDB has appointed a new Knowledge Transfer Senior Manager in the pork team.

Ben Williams is replacing Charlotte Evans, who left AHDB earlier this year to join ForFarmers, and will be working on activity to help close the current production gap that exists between ourselves and other EU countries.

Mr Williams will also be responsible for bringing new ideas to the industry and demonstrating these on farm, as well as collaborating with other sectors and representatives from pig industries in other EU countries.

Steve Dunkley, interim head of pork KE, said: “I’m delighted that Ben has joined our team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him and we’re excited to continue the work that his predecessor Charlotte Evans, who recently moved to ForFarmers, established, in particular the EU Pig project and our field trial programme.”

He previously worked in the education sector, having taught agriculture for the last ten years. During this time, he also ran and worked on a variety of pig and mixed livestock units, from day-to-day husbandry to site management, butchery and further processing.

AHDB has also welcomed Becky Lines (Welfare Coordinator) and Lauren Dimmack (Health and Welfare Officer) to its Health and Welfare team.
