AHDB begins search for new chair
7th Oct 2019 / By Alistair Driver
AHDB has begun its search for a new chair to replace Sir Peter Kendall, whose term of office ends in March next year.
The new chair, who will take up the role from April 1, 2020, will arrive at a critical time for the levy body. AHDB, formed in 2008, is currently under review and implementation of the review recommendations will form a crucial element of the role.
The chair will 'drive forward and implement recommendations made by Defra Ministers on the future purpose and functions of AHDB', the job advert, which can be viewed HERE here, states.
The closing date for applications for these roles is 12 noon on October 22, 2019. Panel interviews are expected to take place in the week commencing December 2, 2019.
AHDB board members are appointed by ministers in Defra and the Devolved Administrations. The appointment will, initially, be for up to three years, with a further three-year term at the discretion of Ministers.
The chair will receive a non-pensionable remuneration of £55,000 per annum, based on a minimum time commitment of 104 days per year.
An independent board member, with the additional responsibility of serving as chair of the AHDB Audit and Risk Assurance Committee, is also needed to replace Will Lifford at the end of his term of office on 31 March, 2020. That role is being advertised HERE.
