Autumn regional reminder - North meeting on Tuesday

22nd Oct 2018 / By Alistair Driver

Last but certainly not least... the final autumn regional meeting of this series will take place in York on Tuesday.

NPA logoThe event will start at 6:30pm with a hot buffet at Sandburn Hall, in Flaxton, York, YO60 7RB. The meeting proper will start at 7pm and is expected to finish at 9-9.30pm.

The meeting will begin with the usual update from the NPA team covering the topical issues of the day, including Brexit, African swine fever, LA-MRSA and Red Tractor’s marketing campaign. This will be followed by an update on the market by Bethan Wilkins from AHDB’s Market Intelligence team.

The main focus of the meeting will be tail docking. With Defra and APHA increasingly looking to enforce legislation relating to tail docking and provision of environmental enrichment and some producers already being penalised for routine docking, the NPA team will explain the changes that are expected and will offer advice on how best to ensure you are compliant.

NPA North chair Vicky Morgan said: "As always, the more people that attend these meetings the more everyone will get out of them by way of active discussion, so please do make the effort to come along. Your views are also very important in helping the national Producer Group formulate policy on your behalf."

The NPA will be running a one hour surgery prior to the start of the meeting, from 5:30-6:30pm, during which time members can book a one-to-one slot with NPA staff should you wish to discuss something specific with them. You can book a time slot by speaking to Andrea.

Please indicate your attendance by contacting Andrea, by email andrea.vickers@npanet.org.uk or telephone 02476 858780.
