Businesses can register now for online Export Health Certificates

9th Oct 2020 / By Alistair Driver

Businesses can register now for Export Health Certificates (EHC) online, ahead of the end of the Transition Period.

From January 1, 2021, businesses that export live animals and animal products to the EU will require an Export Health Certificate (EHC).

Exporters can apply for EHCs online and can register for the online service before their first application is made. You can prepare now by registering via gov.uk. Guidance is available on how to get an EHC and when is the right time to apply here.

You can also view examples of EU EHCs on Defra’s Form Finder

The Government has also published an updated Border Operating Model, which provides further detail on how the GB-EU border will work and the actions that traders, hauliers and passengers need to take

Defra's weekly Agri-Food weekly bulletin also points out that the process for booking COVID-19 tests has been digitised. A new portal enables individuals to book a test themselves, accessible via https://self-referral.test-for-coronavirus.service.gov.uk/

Alternatively, employers can refer staff using an employer portal. Accounts for this portal can be requested by emailing portalservicedesk@dhsc.gov.uk.

The latest statistics, risk level, what to do if you have symptoms, and what the government is doing about the virus can be viewed here.

On October, applications opened to deliver four ‘green social prescribing’ pilots as part of a £4.27 million project to improve mental health and wellbeing in communities hardest hit by coronavirus.
