COVID-19 and the pig industry - we need your feedback!

10th Apr 2020 / By Alistair Driver

The NPA is continuing to work with Government and other industry bodies to support members during the coronavirus crisis.

Coronavirus pic 2“In order to support the pig industry as effectively as we possibly can, we need to hear directly from members,” NPA chief executive Zoe Davies said.

“So please let us know if you are experiencing any issues affecting your business - whether they are ones that have already been documented or new ones that might even be unique to your situation.”

We are involved in regular dialogue with Defra Ministers, as well as Government civil servants, Government agencies and the opposition shadow team. This is on top of continual engagement with other industry representatives from across the supply chain.

Zoe added; “Thank you once again to all members who have contacted us about specific issues – this has enabled us to feed these problems into the wider discussions, thereby raising awareness and prompting action.

“But please remember, the more we hear from you, the more we can do for you!”

Guidance

We have compiled key guidance for members, which can be found in our new special Coronavirus Section in the Members' Area.

These documents were both updated on April 9.

You can also find our template ‘key workers' letter to show if you are stopped by the police, as well as links to important Government documents and a roundup of the most relevant articles on our website.

NPA situation

The whole team is working incredibly hard to make the industry's voice heard at this time, but we, too, are affected by the situation.
