Defra to hold webinars ahead of December 7 changes to import notification

The second phase of the transition to a new national import notification system for GB will be implemented soon. 

The Import of Products, Animals, Food and Feed System (IPAFFS) will be will introduce Products of Animal Origin, High Risk Food and Feed of Non Animal Origin from December 7. IPAFFS will become the new import notification system when the Transition Period ending on January 1, 2021. 

Defra is inviting interested parties to a webinar on November 25-26 and December 2-4. The webinar is intended to provide importers with practical steps on how to use the new system and support you key information for the transition.

Live animals were covered by the system from November 23.

Defra said the webinars will not be a detailed training session, so is asking importers to view this video tutorial before attending your session.
