Discussion group to explore Brexit threats and opportunities

5th Dec 2017 / By Alistair Driver

The NPA's Ed Barker will outline the opportunities and threats presented by Brexit at a meeting of the Suffolk Pig Discussion Group on Wednesday.

The SPDG has invited a high calibre panel of speakers who represent the future of the UK pig industry, including the next generation of the farming industry and allied industry business leaders.

Also on the 'Any Questions' panel are Robin Lawson, general manager, Rattlerow Farms, Dr Laura Hancox, national veterinary manager at Zoetis, Chris Craven, production manager at Wrights Produce and Charlie Chitty, operations manager at Dawkins International.

SPDG secretary Simon Guise said: "This is an opportunity to come along ask this expert panel where they believe the future of the industry lies. What are their hopes and aspirations for their careers in the industry? What have they learnt from their predecessors? How do they view Brexit opportunities and threats?

"So come along for what is guaranteed to be an interesting evening."

  • The event takes place at Cedars Hotel, Stowmarket IP14 2AJ. It starts at 7pm with a free dinner and drinks with the speakers. The meetings starts at 8pm.
