East Anglia Spring Regional reminder

8th Apr 2019 / By Alistair Driver

The East Anglian Spring Regional meeting takes place this Wednesday, April 9, in Diss.

The meeting will take place at Diss RFC (Bellrope Lane, Roydon, IP22 5RG), with a buffet available at 6.30pm and the meeting proper starting at 7pm.

The NPA staff will provide their usual updates on the hot topics affecting the industry, including African swine fever, tail biting, Red Tractor, environmental regulation - and, of course, Brexit.

NPA will be running a one hour surgery prior to the start of the meeting, from 5:30-6:30pm, during which time members can book a one-to-one slot with NPA staff should you wish to discuss something specific with them.

Emily Norton, from Savills’ Rural Research department and a Nuffield scholar, will outline her thoughts on what lies ahead for agriculture and land use as agricultural policy shifts under our post-Brexit future.

Grace O'Dwyer, HSBC's eastern regional agriculture director, will give an update on views from the agricultural banking sector.

Bethan Wilkins from AHDB’s Market Intelligence team will update the meeting on the latest market moves, including the impact of China's increased import demand, and discuss the likely impact of various Brexit scenarios on the industry.

NPA East chairman Simon Guise said: "As always, the more people that attend these meetings the more everyone will get out of them by way of active discussion, so please do make the effort to come along. Your views are also very important in helping the national Producer Group and the NPA team formulate policy on your behalf."
