The Wild Boar population in the UK is described as the biggest risk factor for ASP becoming established in the UK, the latest members' area forum post notes.
The poster was writing in response to news that African swine fever has just been detected in wild boar in Hungary.
"We currently have an export trade estimate at £345 million. At 10 million pigs annually, this is a £34.50 per pig which is the difference between profit and ruin," he said.
