Georgina talking antibiotics in Northern Ireland tonight

7th Mar 2018 / By Alistair Driver

NPA senior policy advisor Georgina Crayford will outline the pig industry's approach to the antibiotic challenge when she addresses a conference in Armagh tonight.

Georgina will be the main speaker at the Progressive Pig Producers Seminar, staged by AB Vista, looking at how advances in nutrition can help meet some of the challenges the pig sector faces.

She will give an overview of AMR, explaining why it is such a big issue for the pig sector and what producers, in partnership with others in the pig and allied sectors, can do about it.

She will be sharing her findings from her Nuffield travels, highlighting how a change in farmer mind-set is needed if we are to tackle AMR and protect the effectiveness of antibiotics for the future.
