Yorkshire producer Phil Stephenson, current chairman of NPA Producer Group, is standing for re-election.

“A strong NPA is essential for the future of our industry, to deal with all of the issues faced of which we know there are many,” he says in his election address. “The list is ongoing and challenging.”

He still gets his hands dirty on 'a daily basis’, on his 700-sow farrow-to-finish unit.

“Having been day-to-day on the farm for the last 35 years I have seen most of the challenges our industry throws up — good and the bad,” he says.

“We have an excellent team at NPA, who need supporting via the Producer Group for our industry to continue to stay ahead of the game.”
