Please note, only producer members can vote for producer candidates and only allied industry members can vote for allied industry candidates.

Producer Group

npa mapThere are 12 elected members on Producer Group, from five regions:

  • North
  • Midlands
  • East
  • South Central
  • South West

A current NPA Producer member may vote for up to 12 candidates, via the online poll or the postal vote. A voter is not obliged to use all 12 votes. A candidate may vote for himself/herself.

Only one vote is permitted per member, so where a business or family operates under a single membership, only one vote will be allowed.

Contractors can vote, provided the company you contract for is an NPA member.

All votes will be tallied into a national total for each candidate and candidates will be ranked in descending order.

Each region will be guaranteed one place on Producer Group, and a maximum of four places.

These rules ensure each region is represented, that no region is over-represented, and that producers have the opportunity to vote not only for local candidates, but also for candidates who will best represent their views.

Allied Industry Group

Each current Allied Industry member of NPA is eligible to vote.

Again, only one vote per membership is permitted.

They may vote for up to 10 candidates, although the voter is not obliged to use all 10 votes. A candidate may vote for himself/herself.

Use your vote

NPA chief executive Zoe Davies said: "We are delighted that we have been able to assemble such strong fields for both the PG and AIG elections. That is a real tribute to the industry.

"Now it is up to you. The next three years are going to be a critical time for the pig industry and now you have the opportunity to choose the people you want to drive the industry forward. NPA members, you have a vote - make sure you use it!"
