McDonald's apologises for bacon shortage

1st Dec 2017 / By Alistair Driver

McDonald's was forced to apologise to consumers today, after running out of bacon.

The problem occurred at store across the country, prompting an outburst on social, as disappointed customers lined up to express their disappointment and surprise.

"National shortage of bacon" @McDonalds did I wake up into a nightmare or something?!?!?!" by one Twitter user was typical of the tone.

In a statement, McDonald's said:  "We’re experiencing a short term issue with the supply of our bacon, meaning some breakfast items may be temporarily unavailable in some restaurants. We’re working closely with our suppliers to sort this as soon as possible."
