NPA continues to generate widespread media coverage of industry plight

13th Sep 2021 / By Alistair Driver

The NPA and its members have continued to spread the word about the plight facing the pig sector far and wide across the media.

Charlie D LBCNPA staff, elected representatives and members around the country have appeared frequently on local, national and international TV and radio, as well as in numerous articles in print and online in the regional, national and trade press.

The NPA has been setting out exactly what is happening in the pig sector and why we are calling for urgent Government help to alleviate the staff shortages crippling the pork supply chain, including accepting industry calls for a COVID Recovery Visa.

NPA chief executive Zoe Davies was interviewed on the flagship BBC Radio 4 Today programme and has been widely quoted across the media warning that thousands of healthy pigs will have to culled unnecessarily unless the Governments acts,

The NPA’s chairman Rob Mutimer, policy services officer Lizzie Wilson, who gave one of the first interviews on the BBC Farming Today programme, and senior policy advisers Charlie Dewhirst and Rebecca Veale have all featured.

At the end of last week, former NPA chairman Richard Lister gave a passionate interview on BBC Look North, while Young NPA chairman Jack Bosworth was recently interviewed on farm by French television.
