Ed appeared in front of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Committee at 3.45pm to provide the pig industry perspective for its current inquiry Brexit: Trade in Food. Also giving evidence in the same session will be Andrew Saunders, Tulip’s Agriculture Director and Richard Griffifths, from the British Poultry Council.
Before the event, Ed said: "It will be an excellent opportunity to explain the challenges raised by Brexit, but also to explain where Government policy can help the sector grow."
The NPA has recently published a document outlining the opportunities and threats for the pig industry from Brexit, which members are advised to use when discussing the issue with MPs.
