Pig & Poultry Forums - NPA's Rob Mutimer to give producer perspective in Pig Outlook forum

NPA chairman Rob Mutimer will set out pig producers' priorities during the Pig Outlook session at today's online Pig & Poultry Forums. 

P P Forum logoPartnered by ABN, the Pig & Poultry Forums will be held throughout today, including the pig, poultry meat and egg outlooks, plus a number of technical sessions, all of which will be free to attend live online.

Sessions for pig farmers include: 'Pig Outlook' at 11:30, 'Optimising sow and pre-weaning piglet performance at' 12:30, and 'Ammonia: What's coming, how to prepare and funding opportunities at 13:15.

The Pig Outlook, chaired by AHDB's Mike Sheldon, will examine how consumer themes of higher animal welfare and environmental improvements are mirrored in the pig sector. Joining Rob on the panel will be, with Morrisons' Sophie Throup and Pilgrim's Pride's Andrews Saunders.

Optimising sow and pre-weaning piglet performance will look at how producers need to adjust their feed patterns to keep up with the change in pig genetics in a conversation chaired by ABN's Steve Jagger and featuring Topigs Norsvin's Chris Opschoor and AB Neo's Kritian Volshoj.

The session on ammonia will examine how the Government's Clean Air Strategy will impact the agriculture sector, and will be chaired by AHDB's Jon Foot with panellists Phillipa Mansfield from Catchment Sensitive Farming, and Simon Lague and Daniel Holling from Big Dutchman.
