North Regional meeting in York on Tuesday

30th Apr 2018 / By Alistair Driver

Last but by no means least, the fourth and final of the NPA's Spring Regional meetings will take place in York on Tuesday evening, May 1.

NPA logoThe North Regional meeting will take place at Sandburn Hall, Scotchman Lane, Flaxton, York, YO60 7RB, from 6.30pm – 9.30pm.

The NPA is running one-hour surgeries prior to the start of each meeting, offering members the opportunity to book a one-to-one slot with NPA staff should you wish to discuss something specific with them. The surgery will start at 5.30pm.

A hot buffet will be served for all attendees at 6.30pm and the meeting will kick off at 7pm with updates from the NPA team on key issues, including Brexit and the NPA's response to Defra's Command paper on food and farming, labelling, proposed changes to pig welfare policy, new environmental charges and African Swine Fever.

This will be followed by an update on the market by Bethan Wilkins from AHDB’s Market Intelligence team.

Caroline Kealey, JSR’s director of meat science and a 2018 Nuffield Scholar, will then speak about her plans for her Nuffield Scholarship looking at carcase grading.

North regional chairman Vicky Morgan said: "As always, the more people that attend these meetings the more everyone will get out of them by way of active discussion, so please do make the effort to come along. Your views are also very important in helping the national Producer Group formulate policy on your behalf."

Please email Andrea Vickers  to confirm your attendance at the meeting or book a time slot at the surgery.
