Red Tractor members caught out by eMB requirement

2nd Jan 2018 / By Alistair Driver

A total of 9% of Red Tractor Pork scheme members incurred non-conformances as a result of not uploading data from the second and third quarters of 2017 onto eMB-Pigs in time.

embUnder the new requirement, part of a raft of Red Tractor rule changes last autumn, antibiotic data must be uploaded on a quarterly basis within six weeks of the last day of the quarter. The first deadline was November 11.

Members can either log onto the eMB themselves https://emb-pigs.ahdb.org and upload the information or their vet can do this for them. Either way, they must have a printed out copy to show the assessor. Even if members have used no antibiotics during a quarter, this must still be uploaded.

The deadlines for 2018 are:

  • Feb 11 – last quarter, 2017
  • May 12 – first quarter, 2018
  • Aug 11 – second quarter, 2018
  • Nov 11 – third quarter, 2018.

Videos and guidance are available on the AHDB Pork website and AHDB regional teams can assist producers wishing to upload usage.

Email  for a copy of the user guide, if you haven't already received one.

The new eMB-Pigs requirement is one of a number of changes made to the Red Tractor pork rules this autumn, most of which came into force on October 1. For more information click here
