Reminder - East region NPA meeting taking place tonight

The Eastern regional NPA meeting will take place at Diss Rugby Club tonight, Thursday (October 13).

NPA-logoThe meeting will cover a range of topics issues. The NPA team will provide updates on the association’s Brexit strategy, which was published last week and forwarded to Defra Secretary Andrea Leadsom.

There will be updates on the industry’s response to demands to reduce antibiotic usage, the ongoing problems posed by animal rights activists, planning issues and the latest on African swine fever and wild boar.

Regional NPA members will also hear a market update from AHDB Pork’s Stephen Howarth and Vikki Campbell.

Emma Bailey-Beech from AHDB Pork and Ramon Romero from Food Standards Agency will outline forthcoming changes to the British Pig Health Scheme and CCIR (inspection data).

The meeting will take place from 6pm until 9.00pm tonight, at Diss Rugby Club, Bellrope Lane, Diss, Norfolk, IP22 5RG. Tea, coffee and a hot buffet meal will be available on arrival at 6.00pm

NPA East regional chairman Simon Guise said: "As always, the more people that attend these meetings the more everyone will get out of them by way of active discussion, so please do make the effort to come along."
