Last chance to take part in survey on AHDB's future!

9th Nov 2018 / By Alistair Driver

It's now or never - today is the final opportunity to take part in a survey on AHDB’s future role after we leave the EU.

The review represents a unique opportunity to influence how your levies are spent in the future that won't come around for some time.

AHDB pork logoThe Government-led Request for Views is considering AHDB’s purpose and priorities, its strengths and where improvements can be made. As part of this, it is seeking input on the levy body’s services, levy payer representation, governance and levy funding systems.

The review closes today Friday, November 9 and industry leaders have been urging the pig sector to have its say.

AHDB Pork chairman Mike Sheldon said it was important for pig producers and people across the allied industries to spell out the things they do and don’t like about their levy body.

“This is a great opportunity to have a say that won’t come round again for a while, so please take part. You shouldn’t assume other people will say it on your behalf and that if you don’t say anything, things will carry on as they are,” he said.

NPA chairman Richard Lister said: “This really is a unique chance for levy payers to collectively influence how our money is spent after we leave the EU. We know there are some things AHDB does well and it is important to highlight those.

"But are its priorities right? What could it change to deliver better value for levy payers?”

"If the pig industry doesn't make your views known now, we can't complain if we don't like what we see in the future!"
