Tesco looking for new agriculture manager for pigs
23rd Dec 2019 / By Alistair Driver
Tesco is looking for a new agriculture manager for pigs, following the departure of Emer Fardy, who held the position for four years.
The role is a crucial obe for the pig sector, given the volumes of pigmeat purchased by the UK’s largest retailer.
The role, based in Tesco’s Hertfordshire head office, includes supporting the development and driving the delivery of the long-term strategy for Tesco’s pig supply chains, ensuring they are ‘sustainable and resilient’. It also covers working with others in the supply chain to collectively help meet customer expectations on environmental, animal health and welfare and farming best practice.
The candidate will also be required to provide Tesco ‘with pig supply chain expertise to help colleagues do their job better’.
