17th Apr 2018 / By Alistair Driver

Pig and poultry Fair NPAThe NPA will be busy at the British Pig and Poultry Fair, which is now less than a month away.

You can find us at Stand 72 in Hall 1 on both days of the event, which takes place on May 15 and 16 at Stoneleigh Park, in Warwickshire.

NPA chief executive Zoe Davies said: “Come along and pay us a visit! NPA staff and representatives will be on hand throughout the two days. We’ll be happy to talk through any issues you might have about your business or the wider pig industry.”

The NPA will also be making announcements and duscussing future policy:

Antibiotic Stewardship: A lot has happened since the NPA published its ground-breaking and influential Antibiotic Stewardship Programme in May 2016. We will provide an update on progress over the last two years, including looking at how the industry should set about meeting new antibiotic targets.

Incursion support: We will be launching new materials to help protect producers targeted by activists.

Pig Prospects: We will be discussing our key asks for post-Brexit policy, ahead of the publication of our Pig Prospects document, which will accompany our response to Defra’s Command Paper on the future of food and farming.

Seminar: Senior policy advisor Ed Barker will be speaking at a seminar entitled ‘Pig outlook – preparing for the road ahead’, alongside Tulip’s Andrew Saunders at 11am on both days of the event. The seminar – in the main forum theatre, adjacent to Hall 3 – will discuss the outlook for the pig sector, including the political backdrop as the UK negotiates its exit from the EU.
