National Pig Awards logo 2020Despite all the uncertainty caused by COVID-19, this year’s awards attracted record entries. The 14 categories are intended to reward excellence in pig production, management, stockmanship, training, marketing, innovation, the allied industries and pedigree breeding, as well as championing young producers and vets.

There are plenty of NPA members among the finalists and look out in particular for the Special Achievement Award, with three Young NPA members named as finalists.

Congratulations to all those shortlisted!

Stewart Houston, who chairs the panel of judges, which includes the NPA's Lizzie Wilson, said the number and quality of entries highlighted the determination of the industry ‘to get on with the job’ and keep pushing the boundaries, even during this difficult time.

The winner of NPA Chris Brant Awards will also be revealed at the virtual event, while the David Black Award winner will also be announced.
