YNPA Challenge 21 - Targets smashed with a week still to go!

15th Jun 2021 / By Alistair Driver

YNPA members have beaten their targets two-thirds of the way through their charity challenge - and are now gearing up for a big push in the final week.

YNPA challenge 3 logosYNPA Challenge 21 is raising money for the Farming Community Network (FCN), which continues to support farmers and their families through difficult times.

The challenge started last week and will run to Monday, June 21, with the initial aim of collectively covering 883 miles to raise £883 for FCN (the figure represents the distance between the NPA ‘Put British Pork on Your Fork’ banners from the furthest north to south and east to west).

As of Tuesday evening, they had covered more than 900 miles on foot, bike and horse, raising more than £1,000 in the process.

New sponsor - Zarkos steps up!

In more good news, Zarkos Associates have agreed to sponsor the coming 'Sunday Funday' to the tune of £2 a mile covered.

They’ve also laid down a challenge that for any individual taking part who completes 70.3 miles (half iron man) this Sunday, the company will throw in a £300 bonus!

During the first Sunday Funday, Quality Equipment (QE) stepped in, donating £2 for each of the 158.64 miles covered.

The NPA's Rebecca Veale said: "It has been a tremendous effort so far, smashing the targets for both miles covered and money raised - and we are hoping to raise a lot more over the final week. There has been some great community spirit within YNPA and it is really good to be raising money for FCN.

"So if you haven't donated yet, please support a great team and a great cause!"
