Zoe to attend prestigious Women of the Year lunch

31st Aug 2017 / By Alistair Driver

NPA chief executive Zoe Davies has been invited to the prestigious Women of the Year Lunch in London, in October.

Zoe FSAZoe, who confessed to being 'slightly embarrassed' about the whole thing, will join over 400 women from all walks of life at the event as a ‘2017 Woman of Achievement’.

Previous attendees have included: Eimear McBride, Ellen MacArthur, Fern Britton, Dame Harriet Walter, Dame Jacqueline Wilson, Julie Walters, Lindsay Lohan, Lulu, Mel Giedroyc, Nadiya Hussein, Nicole Kidman, Professor Mary Beard, Sally Lindsay and Theresa May.

The event, which this year will take place on Monday October 16 at the InterContinental Hotel, Park Lane, London, has ‘recognised, celebrated and inspired women of all backgrounds' since 1955.

Sandi Toksvig, president of Women of the Year, said: “These women are making a huge difference in their own way, and it’s important that we celebrate such extraordinary work. I would love to show the room to every schoolgirl growing up in Britain today and tell them ‘you can be whatever you want to be: just look at these incredible women.’”

Zoe said she was ‘surprised and honoured' to be recognised in this prestigious company but still feels slightly embarrassed about the whole thing and isn’t sure why she’s been invited. But she is looking forward to a good lunch and to meeting Sandi Toksvig!

But NPA vice chairman Richard Longthorp added: “Never mind being surprised and embarrassed you thoroughly deserve it. Enjoy yourself. We are all very proud of you not just for this but everything you do for our industry.”
