APHA extends free carcase collection service

8th Feb 2017 / By Alistair Driver

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) has extended its free carcase collection service for diagnostic post mortem examinations in England.

The change followed a review of APHA’s post mortem examination (PME) services, which are central to the Agency’s work with vets and farmers to investigate and diagnose livestock disease across Great Britain.

PME services are provided by a mixture of APHA’s own Veterinary Investigation Centres (VICs) and a number of external partners – the University of Bristol, the Royal Veterinary College, the University of Surrey, the Scottish Agricultural College (covering Northumberland) and in Wales, the Wales Veterinary Science Centre (Aberystwyth University).
