The NPA highlighted the pig industry's disastrous situation at a parliamentary reception this week.

Along with the NFU, BPC and BEIC, we organised a reception of the Eggs, Pigs & Poultry All-Party Parliamentary Group on Wednesday morning to highlight the importance of putting our sectors on a sustainable footing.

We were joined by MPs and Peers from across the political divide and enjoyed speeches from the group’s chair, Jim Shannon MP, and the Chair of the EFRA Select Committee Neil Parish, who has been hugely supportive of the industry during the crisis.

Phil Stephenson, Sally Stockings and Joe Dewhirst were there to represent the pig industry and it provided a very timely opportunity to impress on politicians the enormously critical situation we are in.
