Where are we in the pig price cycle? We'll soon know....

There’s been such a tremendous response to our NPA election website Pig Cycle Poll, we’ll put the brakes on this weekend, and publish the results on Monday.

So... is there a consensus on where we are in the price cycle? Suffice to say, as ever in this industry, there are pessimists (we’ve hardly started) and some optimists (we’re nearly at the bottom).   

But when the sums have been done, it’s a fair bet most poll participants will have opted for quarter-past-the-hour.

It’s only a bit of fun (fun?) but with the serious underlying message that once again the British pig industry is about to be plunged into a period of uncertainty.

So if you think you might have something to offer, please do consider standing for Producer Group or Allied Industry Group.

Even if you’re not elected, you'll have made an important contribution to NPA's ongoing democratic preeminence. The rest of the industry will recognise that, and be grateful for it.
