Charlie to discuss labour shortages with MPs
26th Oct 2021 / By Alistair Driver
NPA senior policy adviser Charlie Dewhirst will be giving evidence to MPs today about how labour shortages are affecting the pig industry.
Charlie will be appearing in front of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee this afternoon, as part of its inquiry into Labour shortages in the food and farming sector. The inquiry is exploring what is causing labour shortages, and the impact on the food and farming sector both now and in the future.
The session will be an opportunity to press Government on ensuring the package of measures announced earlier this month is delivered as intended and help to get pigs off farms more quickly.
You can watch the session here from 2.30pm.
