Looking to export? Workshop to be held in Birmingham this week

30th Apr 2017 / By Alistair Driver

A workshop providing guidance for companies looking to move into export markets will be held in Birmingham this week.

export workshopThe ‘New to Export’ workshop will take place at Birmingham City University on May 3, as part of the Government’s Exporting is GREAT campaign. It is being staged by official campaign partner Mentoring Britain, with the support of the Department for International Trade (DIT).

The organisers said the event would help food and drink producers to learn more about exporting and exactly how to get started and would be 'of great interest' to representatives of the pig industry.

"Exporting is key to the long-term success of the UK food and drink industry, companies that export are overall more productive than those that do not," the organisers said.

"Exports offer opportunities for growth, taking advantage of emerging markets and capitalising on the growing consumer demand for the quality food and drink produced in the UK. The UK has a strong reputation for the high standards of its food, for its quality, safety, animal welfare, sustainability and traceability.

"The Government and industry want to maintain and build upon this."
