NPA COVID-19 guidance and key issues documents updated

13th May 2020 / By Rebecca Veale

We have updated our COVID-19 guidance and key issues table, following the Prime Ministers' announcement on Sunday (May 10).

You can view the documents in the Members' Area here

The various announcements do not mean big changes for pig producers right now, given that, as key workers, they have continued to work through the lockdown period.

We have updated our guidance to reflect these changes but there will be more over the coming weeks as the plans for reopening schools, retail and pubs and restaurants are made.

But as the outbreak continues, the challenges posed to the industry develop – for instance, the availability of PPE and dustmasks specifically are an issue, along with staff sickness and the continuation of vaccine production are of concern.

NPA continues to meet with Government and industry to raise these issues and provide solutions, the key things we’re working on are summarised in the NPA COVID-19 issues table.

If you’re experiencing issues in relation to Covid-19, whether it is in the table already or not, then please get in touch with us. It is often helpful to have specific examples to hand in order to fully convey the issue.
