The tour showcased the extraordinary history of the famous building, while also giving an insight into the modern decision-making progress at this pivotal time in our history.

Following the tour, the group took part in an discussion with Liv Phoenix, from the NFU’s political team and Ed Barker at the NFU offices in Westminster. Liv gave an overview of the NFU’s lobbying activities whilst Ed provided first-hand insight of life working in the House of Commons, as well as the less well known facts of Westminster.

Ed, who organised the event, said: “We wanted to give members first-hand taste of the inner workings of Parliament, as our political future is at stake.

"It was a very informative with plenty of lively discussion about where the pig industry sits in all of this. I think everyone enjoyed their day and came out with plenty to ponder!”
