Urgent call for overalls to help battle against COVID-19

20th Apr 2020 / By Alistair Driver

Pig producers and those from the allied industries are being urged to donate any fluid resistant gowns or overalls they might have in their possession to help the battle against coronavirus.

There is a national shortage of fluid resistant gowns within the NHS. In some situations, NHS staff can use coveralls instead of gowns, helping to conserve the supply.

The NPA has been contacted by Simon Goodwin, a senior animal health officer, at East Riding Council, who asked us to send the message out to members.

Donations can be made nationally or locally, to the Humber area, via the LEP

NPA chief executive Zoe Davies said: “If anyone has a stash of paper overalls you are not using, please donate them to help with the battle against COVID-19. But make sure you check the specification first.”
