Last chance to respond to Red Tractor consultation

Today is the last opportunity to respond to the Red Tractor consultation. 

While the NPA will submit our detailed response to the consultation, it is also really very important for individual scheme members to respond directly. 

The NPA's draft response is ready for members to read and comment on. If you want to look at it and then give us your feedback, please email  and we will forward the document to you.

Launched in early January, many of the proposed changes within the document reflect the requirements of the Defra Pig Welfare Code. There are new requirements on animal health and welfare, husbandry, biosecurity and antibiotic usage, as the changes tie in with the Pig Health and Welfare Pathway currently being developed and the new sector antibiotic targets.

In some cases, the proposed changes come in the form of recommendations, rather than new requirements.
