AHDB pork levy priorities to be unveiled during online event today

10th Nov 2022 / By Alistair Driver

Pork levy payers will learn how the levy will be invested over the next five years, when the AHDB sector councils unveil their strategies today.

The Pork, Beef & Lamb, Cereals & Oilseeds and Dairy sector councils will outline the new priorities during a ‘Delivering the Future of Farming’ online event on Thursday November 10, with levy payers able to ask questions about each of the new key areas of work. The pork session is due to start at 4pm.

AHDB Pork Sector chair Mike Sheldon recently revealed that three priorities had been identified for what will be a reduced pork levy spend from next year - exports, domestic promotion and enhancing pork's reputation.

Ahead of the meeting, AHDB announced on Friday that it will no longer be providing funding for the Pig Health Scheme after this year.
